Briana's Story
In March 2024, one-year-old Michael was removed from his mother, Briana, who was facing significant challenges, including substance abuse and domestic violence. With her support system out of state and limited prenatal care for her current pregnancy, Briana was determined to turn things around. She quickly sought help by enrolling in a rehabilitation program for substance abuse, where she made significant strides toward recovery.
Upon completing the program and being released, Briana worked hard to create a safe and stable home environment for Michael’s return. With the ongoing support and encouragement of services like PADRES parenting classes and counseling through the Family Crisis Center, provided by Texas Family Care Network and Case Manager Tina Kilgore, a monitored return of Michael was initiated.
Just before Michael was able to come home, Briana welcomed a healthy baby girl into the world. There were no safety concerns after birth, and she was able to bring her daughter home from the hospital.
In under nine months, Briana’s dedication and perseverance led to the dismissal of her case, and she
was able to reunite with and continue to care for her children, a testament to her strength and commitment to providing a loving and secure home for her family.
